Kristina's pastel drawings uses pure pigment mixed with a minimal binder which provides a wide range coloured sticks. This versatile medium allows her to apply effects by blending and layering colours onto the paper's surface, as well as utilizing techniques like hatching and shading. The broad side of the stick can be used for large blocks of colour and the tip and shaped tips for more detailed marks so building up colour and volume to create vibrant expressive images.
